About OVERLOOKED
Undercovered global news — the stories the big outlets barely cover.
OVERLOOKED is an online-only, AI-backed newsroom. We have no offices, no printing press and no large staff. We use AI tools to track reporting from around the world, find the stories that get little attention, and turn them into clear, sourced summaries. A human publisher sets our standards.
Plenty happens in the world that never makes the evening news. OVERLOOKED gathers those stories — conflicts, disasters, hunger, health emergencies and quieter shifts that the big outlets barely cover — and puts them in one place.
Depth: every story, five layers deep of insight
Most news stops at the headline. On OVERLOOKED you can dig: L1 what happened, L2 who’s affected, L3 why it’s quiet, L4 the deeper impact and L5 the full context. Each layer uses only facts from the linked sources. When we have no data on why a story got little coverage, layer 3 says so instead of guessing.
How we work
- Every story is a short summary of reporting by established sources, such as wire services, UN agencies and humanitarian organizations.
- Each story links to its original reporting. Read the sources for the full picture.
- AI helps us find, sort and summarize. It does not get to make things up: every fact must trace back to a cited source.
- We add a “Why it was overlooked” note only when there is data to back it up, such as media-coverage studies.
- We don’t publish rumors or invent details. If we get something wrong, we fix it.
Independence
OVERLOOKED is an independent roundup. It is not affiliated with any major network or with the organizations it cites.
